Fort George + Georgetown Fanzine IPA

Tap #13
Fort George
$6.75 16oz
$3 Taster
Fanzine IPA is an early spring seasonal collaboration.
This year we sat down with our friends at Georgetown
Brewing in Seattle and the hop masters at Yakima
Chief and looked at each other fondly until this beer
popped out of our heads fully-formed like the goddess
Athena springing forth from Zeus’s forehead after a
long headache. Just kidding, we did a lot of test batches
and tasted them like normal people.
The result is the ideal spring beer – packed with
hundreds of pounds of the finest Cryo Hops for
concentrated bursts of flavor on light, bubbly butterfly
wings. Fanzine is the ultimate fan tribute to the beer
world’s favorite style: The IPA.

ColdFire Echoes From Eden Hazy Double IPA

Tap #16
ColdFire Brewing Co.
$6.75 12oz
$3 Taster
Brewing is an ancient practice that has long lingered and become enmeshed in our culture and history since the dawn of early civilization. Contemporary brewing has carried on and refined the craft that sprang from these early origins, and Echoes from Eden is a direct example of this homage. This hazy double IPA is a tropical bomb with heady notes of mango, pineapple, guava, papaya, and orange candy. Balancing a soft body built with high-end European pilsner malt and flaked wheat, generous additions of Mosaic, El Dorado, and Galaxy hops carry this beer from its ancient roots to the modern palate.

Crux Bochi Bochi Japanese Rice Lager

Tap #36
Crux Brewing
$6.75 16oz
$3 Taster
A very pale, light-colored lager brewed in the crisp Japanese style with whole Calrose Rice (not flaked!). Very easy-drinking and light on the palate with a mild floral balance from Oregon-grown Hallertau whole leaf hops. What is “Bochi Bochi”, you ask? Well, in Osaka it’s “a way of vaguely stating things are neither going extremely well nor are they very bad.” We thought that pretty well summed up the brew-day as we figured out how to work with the notoriously sticky Calrose Rice.

the future has arrived.

OAT is a statewide nonprofit land trust that works with farmers and ranchers to permanently protect their land from development and to pass it down to the next generation as agricultural land. OAT is a nonprofit land trust that protects agricultural land across the state from development. 25% of Oregon’s land is in farms and ranches — an area larger than the state of West Virginia. Considering that 64% of that land is set to change hands in the next twenty years as farmers continue to age and only 19% of farmers and ranchers have a succession plan in place, much of that land is vulnerable to development.

“One of the major reasons we have some of the best beer in the world is because Oregon has such fertile farmland,” said Oregon Agricultural Trust Executive Director, Nellie McAdams. “Our farmers grow five percent of all the hops in the world and we have some of the best soil on the planet. But you can’t unpave farmland; once it’s gone it’s gone. So Cheers to the Land both celebrates our farmland and raises awareness about the importance of protecting it for agriculture, forever.”

Block 15 Turbulent Consequence Bottle $14

Block 15
$14 16.9oz
Turbulent Consequence is brewed using classic lambic methods from the Senne River Valley in Belgium. A multi-step turbid mash of unmalted wheat and barley undergoes an extended boil, along with aged hops. After the boil, hot wort is pumped into our coolship and cooled overnight, where thriving resident flora from our wild cellar inoculates the wort. It is then filled into oak barrels for spontaneous fermentation and extended maturation. Select barrels from the Turbulent Consequence program are used in various blends throughout the year.

Zoiglhaus Märzen Mädness

Tap #29
$6.75 16oz
$3 Taster
The Märzen traditionally signified the end of the brewing season before the dawn of refrigeration (in the month of March–März in German). They were brewed with enough alcohol to survive the warm summer months, but left refreshing enough not to overwhelm the palate on a hot day. In celebration of this month’s insanity we brewed an orange-brown colored Märzen (should look like the hue of a basketball, actually) to coincide with college basketball’s greatest event. German malts, hops, and yeast…what did you expect?
