Vortex + Mai Tai PA = VOR TAI PA

Fort George’s beloved Vortex meets Alvarado St. Brewery’s legendary Mai Tai PA.

Picture this: it’s late summer, orange evening light bathes the firm, cool sand at the water’s edge and Vortex, Oregon’s favorite year-round west coast IPA, is standing in the shallows contemplating the offshore winds. Then suddenly – Mai Tai PA, a tropical west coast IPA from the land of the sun, drops into the pocket of an incoming wave – skimming the edge of the whitewash. Eyes meet. Hearts beat. It’s love at first site.

Beneath the glassy surface we’re more similar than different – each of us hailing from historic and industrious towns, deeply tied to our history, our community and our craft.

When the first pale ales were sailed around the cape to arrive in India in the early 18th center, outcries of “Zounds!”, “Jolly good!”, and “Huzzah!” were heard across the East Indian subcontinent. Similar exclamations are to be expected when sniffing the piney aroma and tasting the big hops, huge citrus, and candy-like malt of Pfriem’s own IPA. Drink up, guv’nor.

An artistic brown ale brewed with a host of specialty malts and English yeast. Soft body and a malt profile with notes of toasted nuts, baker’s chocolate, and coffee with a dry finish.

We’ve taken the essence of our favorite spiced fall drinks and infused it into our chocolate porter. Notes of Vanilla, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Clove dominate the aroma of the Spice is Right, giving way to a soft chocolate finish.

NITRO BROWN ALE with LOCAL CHESTNUTS

A substantially malty, silky smooth Nitro Brown Ale brewed with local, wild-foraged Oregon Chestnuts.

We lightly roasted these beautiful, wild-foraged and hand-processed nuts in the pizza oven upstairs (over an open fire, you might say), before dumping them into the mash. The chestnuts give the beer a smooth, creamy texture and a soothing, mellow bitterness, perfectly balancing the toasty malt.

Solstice Demon was brewed to banish the ghosts, trolls, evil spirits and dwellers in the darkness.

Pilsner’s cold fermentation leaves the beer clear and bright after its long aging process. High levels of natural carbonation in Chuckanut Pilsner result from the aging process, creating a pillowy white head on top of the golden liquid. Chuckanut Brewery’s genuine Bohemian style Pilsner is truly mouthwatering, deeply satisfying, and incomparably refreshing! Chuckanut Pilsner has won two GABF Medals and a Gold World Beer Cup medal!

Brewed with Eraclea barley grown near the Adriatic Sea northeast of Venice and hopped with a tri-fecta of German hops. Buoy Italian Pilsner has a noticeable malty-sweet aroma with notes of oat & honey and earthy, herbal & spicy hop notes & aromas.

This Belgian Strong Ale was brewed in December of 2025. We received two neutral oak wine bottle from Argyle winery, one had Pinor Noir, the other Chardonnay. After a few months the difference began to show. After 10 months we decided the time was right. We hand bottled one hundred of each.

CZECH DARK LAGER collaboration with COLDFIRE BREWING

A complex, toasty Czech-Style Dark Lager brewed with ColdFire Brewing for their annual Dark Lager Festival in Eugene.

Lighting is everything. In the right hands, a single 2700k incandescent bulb can turn a spaceship into a medieval fortress. Similarly, in the right hands, a supremely dark and flavorful malt bill can transform a regular beer into a Czech Dark Lager.

Hops: Saaz, Magnum

NZ Cascade: A soft-gravity wheat beer built for interdimensional yard time. Candy-hefe, banana-clove floats in low orbit while NZ Cascade blasts through with lime pop, star-bright citrus, and breezy space-grass energy. A cosmic custody experience, courtesy of Tiny Giants + Nebuleus — where the only escape plan is another pour.

Fun to drink, fun to say. This fruited sour wallops your palate with tidal waves of tangerine and vanilla bean. A sweet and tart backbone provides a rich and soft mouthfeel. FYI: this beer contains Lactose.

Inspired by the majestic sights and sounds of Scotland, Highland Hymn is a malt-forward crescendo of caramelized sugar and toffee notes accompanied by a robust, and complex finish.

Our bold and complex maibock-style ale that has been introducing countless beer drinkers to craft beer the world for over 25 years. Chock full of rich caramel malts and herbal hop nuances tied together with a balanced hop bitterness, this guy is still as drinkable as ever.

As exciting as a Pamela Anderson action thriller and as soothing as grandmas classic summer pie. Is this the beer grandma would give you if your grandma was Pamela Anderson? Maybe so. Which isn’t to say we’ve soured on the iconic PA, we applaud her for being so in the moment and so herself, much like this beer is. Yeah, there’s plenty of strawberry and there’s no denying the tartness of the Rhubarb but it’s all balanced and not fake.

Inspired by Europe, we added milk sugar to a rich, imperial stout to make an enormously delicious milk stout. With coffee, chocolate and caramel notes you can enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert

In honor of the only good thing that happened during the COVID-19 pandemic, we toast the introduction of sharing growlers with your neighbors at a safe social distance. Stone-fruit driven hop aroma and flavor are the primary drivers in this clarity lacking golden ale

As winter makes its arrival, so does the tradition of “winter warmers”. Snow Cave is our take on a warming, winter ale to usher in the season.

A hearty malt backbone gives notes of toffee, fir and toasted bread crumbs for a malty and slightly sweet base. Fruity notes from Crystal, Galaxy and Cascade hops balance the maltiness for the perfect first winter beer of the season to be enjoyed by a cozy fire – whether that’s out in a snow cave or your own fireplace.

Abominable is a perfect blend of caramel malts and Simcoe, Azacca, and Centennial hops, creating a complex, spicy, and citrusy winter ale.

Our South Coast Style Pale Ale is unfiltered and double dry hopped giving way to the intense aroma and flavor similar to an IPA but with a lower bitterness. Its resinous, citrus, and fruity character come from a blend of American hop varieties. Even with all the hop forward flavor of this beer it is well balanced leaving you wanting another sip

IMPERIAL RED ALE with NOBLE FIR TIPS

The public have an insatiable curiosity to
know everything, except what is worth knowing. Lucky for us, the Wisdom Line is about to depart and all it takes to climb aboard is good taste and a sense of adventure.

Wisdom Line is an Imperial Red Ale with 15 pounds of Noble Fir Tips – brewed for Fort George’s first ever Tree Beer Fest on December 6th, 2025.

Hops: Amarillo, Simcoe, Columbus

Malts: Rahr 2Row, C40, Caramel Steam, Munich 10, Mela, Midnight Wheat

Other: Noble Fir Tips

Cold IPA fermented it with 600lb fresh honeydew melon and dry hopped with Huell Melon hops.

Ol’ St. Nick is a generously malt-forward winter ale – artfully constructed with a base of selected malts and hops, offering notes of toffee, cocoa, plum, and caramel with citrusy hops and a pleasant lingering finish.

The ultimate session-able IPA. Brewed with a blend of Northwest hops with Citra and Mosaic at the forefront. Body of premium organic malts from US & Germany. Subtle yet complex malt profile.

Taking our base kettle sour beer and exploding it with an abundance of fruit, like fresh pineapple juice. We added Chinook hops and the tart acidity comes in waves from the pineapple, as well as an addition of key lime. Finally, a small amount of True Terpenes Pineapple Paradise gives it an extra punch of tropical fruit!

A nitrogenated version of our “Crux Stout” with medium malt sweetness, caramel, chocolate, and roasted coffee flavors with a distinctive dry roasted bitterness in the finish

JAWS OF DAMNATION – RICE LAGER

It’s light! It’s crisp! It’s a lager so bold, it’ll leave you screaming for more – before it vanishes into the night with a finish that’ll haunt your taste buds.

Mexican Style Lager brewed with pale pilsner malt and flaked maize.

Bone dry, Floral, Crisp, Refreshing

Milk sugar, cocoa nibs and caramel malt build the rich, full body of this brew, with mild roasted notes coming from three varieties of chocolate malt. Have some dessert today – just make sure it’s served in a glass!
Hops: Chinook

A deliciously tart blend of 100% NW apple cider and fresh pressed Concord Grapes. The result is a delightful treat, reminiscent of your childhood grape juice box.

Freight American Lager is simple, real good beer at a great price. It’s the kind of beer you’d grab without thinking—cold, crisp, smooth, and enjoyable.

Our base American wheat, fermented with blackberry puree for a jammy fruit character over a clean malt base.

Double Mountain/Loyal Legion collab, pear fruited dry cider

German Style Hefeweizen. Not your Widmer.

German style hefeweizen has traditional notes of clove, banana and bubble gum flavors. Keeping with the style the hazy golden color and medium body present a great warm weather beer. The hop profile is light and is there just enough to not make the beer sweet or too malty.

In Belgium, Old St. Nick delivers a bundle of sticks to those who have behaved badly throughout the year. Just to be safe, we suggest foregoing cookies and leaving Santa a pFriem Belgian Christmas Ale. Brewed with coriander in a rich, Dubbel base, its toffee aromas and hints of fresh, ripe orange will leave a milk-chocolaty velvet coat on Santa’s tongue and guarantee that you won’t be getting sticks this year.

Cozy up to the fire with a pint of pFriem’s Winter Ale and gift your taste-buds with hints of spice, orange zest, caramel and a touch of spruce tree. You may even sense the subtle notes of fruitcake, which might encourage you to share this Winter Ale with your family and friends. Unlike fruitcake, this is a beer that will not be re-gifted.

Ferment Woodsman Porter embodies the spirit of Ferment. Malts from England, Belgium, Germany, and Chile come together in a mash imparting a rich, fruity character. Hop varieties from England and the Pacific Northwest combine with wild foraged Doug Fir tips to lend earthy evergreen notes. Facial hair and flannel optional.

For our first Dry Cider, we kept it simple and local. Newtons and old world cider apples from the Double Mountain Orchard were pressed and fermented on our house yeast strain. We gave it plenty of time to dry out and develop wondrous aromas of juicy pear, lychee, green fruit, and chamomile. It finishes tart, crisp, dry, and quenching. 6.7% ABV, Gluten Free

The story of pilsner starts in 19th century Bohemia when a Bavarian monk smuggled a special yeast to a brewmaster in Pilsen. The story of pFriem Pilsner starts in the Pacific Northwest where it acquires the aroma of fresh grass and flowers and a touch of honey. While there are no monks involved in this pilsner, there is still a crisp and spicy finish.
